The White House said Wednesday that Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former “The Apprentice” contestant turned political neophyte, is leaving the administration next month.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told The Associated Press that Manigault Newman’s resignation is effective Jan. 20, one year since Trump’s inauguration.
Manigault Newman’s departure was rumored back in September following a number of controversies.
A month earlier, the 43-year-old endured a chaotic trip to the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in New Orleans.
Her appearance at an event during the convention was described as confrontational and hectic as she aggressively insisted reporters “Ask me a question about me,” while sidestepping inquiries about the administration.
The two-time “Apprentice” villain turned senior White House official also ruffled feathers when she reportedly brought members of her 39-person bridal party to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for an extended wedding photo shoot.
The unannounced April visit to the White House in her bridal attire caught fellow senior aides and some security officials by surprise.
"Ask me about me." That right there was probably enough to get a megalomaniac like Trump to fire her.
Omarosa is just one more of Trump's closest confidants who is now being ushered out the door.
That leaves this unhinged and volatile lunatic even more isolated and alone than before.
I certainly hope that somebody is keeping those nuclear codes well hidden.

Omarosa Manigault Newman was an idiot for trying to outmaneuver White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and avoid being fired.
But that's exactly what happened on Tuesday, when President Trump's public liaison officer was fired by the White House chief of staff.
The Wall Street Journal reports a source who described Manigault being "physically dragged and escorted off the campus." White House reporter April Ryan says things were worse than that. Manigault, she says, apparently demanded to see Trump and was "very vulgar" to Kelly when he refused. Ryan then says Manigault tried to access the White House residence anyway!
Bad move.
Unamused Secret Service officers and agents unsurprisingly refused to grant access to the irate staffer, and she was forced from the compound. Indeed, Manigault was lucky that she was not arrested or otherwise more forcibly detained: As I've explained, the Secret Service take a very dim view of individuals who attempt to gain unauthorized proximity to the president.

“Gen. Kelly was upset with a multiplicity of things,” Ryan explained. “It was not just one thing, I am told. When I got the word this morning, my text messages were flying at me left and right this morning as I woke up and one high-ranking Republican who text messaged me said that he got word from somebody in the White House who said, ‘Mission accomplished!'”

ReplyDeleteI wouldn’t think she is eligible for a pension after only 1 year on the job, after all it is still a government job. In fact I tried to apply for an FBI position years ago and was told I was ineligible because I wouldn’t be able to accrue the number of years necessary to collect a pension.
That doesn’t mean the White House doesn’t have some secret slush fund (trump 2020 campaign funds, paid for my those sucker trump supporters) and paid her to leave and keep her mouth shut.
However I would bet the farm that she is already looking for book deals, can’t imagine Omarosa would pass up the chance to make a buck even if the book has no juicy info since it will be all about her.
Maybe not pension but possibly healthcare?

Officials at the city's Board of Elections said the President signed and dated an absentee ballot along with an application on Oct. 19, checking a box that said he would be absent from the city on Election Day.
First Lady Melania Trump did the same, submitting a handwritten form that had everything in capital letters.
But the First Lady did not sign the envelope she put the ballot in as required by BOE, so her vote wasn’t counted. [...]
Trump's daughter Ivanka also botched her ballot. It was filled out correctly, but she didn’t mail it until Election Day—which was too late to be counted, officials said.
Her husband, Jared Kushner, didn't mail his back at all, according to the board. [...]
Officials said the President’s ballot was fine. But that was before the Daily News pointed out to an official that the date of birth on his application was a full month off.
Trump, 71, was born on June 14, 1946, but his ballot application lists his birthday as July.
Bear in mind that Jared and Ivanka are senior advisors with security clearances, ostensibly tasked with implementing policy and changing the world in which we live. They can’t even take care of a simple personal errand. Melania can’t follow simple directions and Trump doesn’t know when he was born, apparently. It boggles the mind to speculate how these people might fare if they had to actually perform acceptably at a normal job every day, do their own laundry, prepare their own meals, get the oil changed, etc. These people are incompetent. Looking good, with lots of help, is their sole attribute.

ReplyDeleteAn algorithm concluded a weather station in northern Alaska must have broken because it was reporting such high temperatures.
320 miles north of the Arctic Circle, a weather station in America’s northernmost city of Utqiaġvik (formerly Barrow), Alaska, has been quietly collecting temperature data since the 1920s.
Early this month, while preparing a report on U.S. climate, experts at the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) noticed something odd: They were missing data from Utqiaġvik for all of 2017, and some of 2016.
It turns out the temperatures recorded at Utqiaġvik over that time were warmer than had ever seen before. So much so, in fact, that an automated computer system set up to police data and remove irregularities had flagged it as unreal and excluded it from the report.
